Karen Beane Ray 

     Born and raised in Texas, I am a true Southern girl.  After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, I made the decision to pursue a career in the retail grocery industry.  I spent my high school and college years working my way through the grocery industry, so it was a natural fit for me after college.  After eight years in management and marketing positions, I chose to put my degree to work and move into education.

I have been in the field of education since 1996 and have taught English (9-12), Peer Assistance and Leadership, SAT Prep, and sponsored many clubs and organizations.  For the last three years I have been the Instructional Coach at Burleson Centennial High School.  This position allows me to provide professional development for teachers while remaining on a campus.

I consider myself a life-long learner and recently received my Masters of Educational Leadership.  Upon graduation,  I obtained my principal's certification as well as my ILD and PDAS certifications.
